Our Classless President

That President Obama seems to think he's still campaigning for the White House is bad enough. Most of his speeches, it seems, are peppered with blame for this country in general or George W Bush in particular. Just this week, when talking about the prison for terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, he spoke about the "mess" he had inherited, and that in the days after 9-11 officials in the Bush Administration made "hasty" decisions "based upon fear rather than foresight."

Uh huh. He of course, is far too smart, and all of his decisions would have been perfect. The man is a legend in his own mind.

In his weekly radio address today he paid tribute to American troops throughout history who have paid the ultimate price, but just had to include a cheap shot at his predecessor (h/t Powerline):

And yet, all too often in recent years and decades, we, as a nation, have failed to live up to that responsibility. We have failed to give them the support they need or pay them the respect they deserve. That is a betrayal of the sacred trust that America has with all who wear - and all who have worn - the proud uniform of our country

But now that Obama is our president, the sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect.

John Hinderaker at Powerline summed it up:

As Chris Stirewalt notes:
It gets little notice, but even to this day Bush makes calls on wounded veterans at military hospitals, corresponds with families of fallen servicemembers and gives his own money to veterans charities. In office, Bush hugely increased funding for veterans programs and worked relentlessly to improve the lot of ordinary troops.

It would be interesting to know how much of his own money Barack Obama has given to veterans' charities over the years. I'd hazard a guess: zero.

Obama's incessant attacks on the Bush administration tell us nothing about former President Bush, but a great deal about Barack Obama: the man has no class.

Classless and clueless. Not a great combination. But, if people looked solely at him and judged him on his own merits, if people weren't distracted by the whole "right against left" charade... well, people would stop being emotional. They wouldn't be reactionary. They might actually use their brains and be analytical. And, then it wouldn't take long, to evaluate Obama... rationally. Keeping the right and the left "whipped up" against each other... is how these politicians slip their real agendas past the American people.

They're con men... pure and simple. The founders advised us to be DISPASSIONATE so we could use wisdom and intelligence and not be swayed by blind emotion.

Are we on the right "guilty" of allowing con men to throw us around emotionally as they whip us up against "the other guy", so we don't evaluate them objectively, analytically, and logically?? How in the hades did any of us agree to let the Patriot Act through - allow the DHS in our free nation - allow a standing army to come into GA to be used against our people - and all the other things that are building the infrastructure of forces and laws to be used against the American people?? You know what. The left is smarter than the right. Why?? Because even Rachel Maddow called Obama on what he is doing to destroy the Constitution. That means she did not allow partisan politics to blind her to real danger posed by a President that she would view as on her "side" (left vs. right) - in promoting indefinite detention without benefit of trial, rights, or even having committed a crime.

What about the right?? What about us?? How long will we applaud George W. Bush and not see what he has done to set the stage for such tyranny against the American people??

I am going to Texas when Texas secedes. George Bush, I bet, will have already fled the State seeing that freedom is rising. Because the people, at that time, will no longer be deceived by the elite who masterminded and advanced the destruction of our free nation. That's how I see the future.

That's my

Obama has been President for only 4 months.

Whose fault is it that we are in this mess? Who created the problems we have now? You criticize Obama, but you don't put blame to who is to blame for our poor situation, or maybe you think everything is just fine in our country now.

Obama puts the blame where it belongs. Take responsibility for the failures of your party.

During the Bush administration Veterans benefits were cut(during a time of war). Private citizens paid for bullet proof vests that our soldiers wore in Iraq. Private citizens paid for a burn unit in Arizona for our soldiers.

Don't you think these things are the responsibility of the American people as a whole? Do we have an army based on charity, or based on the backing of the citizens of the United States?

Bush visited soldiers in Walter Reed, I guess he didn't see the rats and mice. I guess he didn't care about the wounded lingering without treatment, in overcrowded conditions waiting months or years to get proper treatment. I guess he wasn't aware his soldier's families were living on food stamps, or care that many Vets live in the streets of America. I'm sick of Bush saying how much he cares for soldiers and allows them to live as 3rd class citizens.

Did you read the Dole report on the conditions of our wounded soldiers and its recommendations to improve those conditions?

Yours is a cheap shot at the current President who did not cause the poor conditions of our soldiers, but in fact is doing something about those poor conditions (like raising their pay, giving more for their education, giving more to help their families, etc...) and making laws and rule changes to insure they get a better lifestyle during and after their service to our country.

I could go on but you obviously don't believe facts and would rather regurgitate the false talking points of the truth bending conservatives.

Why is it people of the Republican party like Bob Dole are the ones pointing out how badly our soldiers have been treated during the Iraq - Afghanistan wars?

"I am going to Texas when Texas secedes". Interesting! Good riddance. Mexico will invade Texas and USA will turn its back. In the end, Texas will belong to a place where it truly belongs. That's Mexico!
